Privacy notice

Last updated 4 November 2026

We use your information to respond to you, provide your account and help you understand your business. We don’t sell your personal information.

Who is responsible?

MakePace is responsible for the personal information described in this notice. You can make a privacy enquiry through our contact form.

What we collect

Please don’t add passwords, payment details, customer lists or sensitive personal information to business notes or chats.

Why we use it

We process enquiries and account information to take steps at your request and deliver the services you choose. We use proportionate security and misuse-prevention measures for our legitimate interests in protecting the service. We rely on your consent for optional marketing emails and for analytics storage on a website using our tracker.

Your assistant receives your saved business profile, notes, recent conversation and available traffic and visibility summaries. It doesn’t automatically access private records you haven’t shared. Visibility checks send the relevant service and location questions to the enabled AI providers; your private notes and chat history aren’t included in those checks.

Who helps provide the service?

Our hosting provider stores the account data. Resend delivers sign-in emails and Cloudflare Turnstile helps protect forms from automated misuse. OpenAI provides the business assistant. Depending on your service, visibility checks may use OpenAI, Anthropic, Google and Perplexity. We only send the information needed for the relevant request.

These providers may process information outside the UK. Where international-transfer safeguards are required, we use appropriate contractual and transfer arrangements. Provider retention and security policies also apply to information sent to them; deleting your dashboard does not itself delete a provider’s separately retained security records.

Cookies and website analytics

This website uses an essential, secure sign-in cookie that expires after one day. Sign-in links expire after 20 minutes. Temporary browser storage remembers your selected dashboard page or question during sign-in. The marketing website does not load advertising or visitor analytics trackers.

On a customer website, our optional tracker stays inactive until analytics consent is granted. It uses a random browser identifier stored for up to 90 days. It does not collect names, email addresses, URL query strings or page content. The server stores a daily, account-specific hash rather than that raw identifier. Withdrawing consent stops future recording and removes the stored browser identifier. Your website’s own privacy notice and consent controls apply.

How long we keep information

Operational backups may retain deleted records until the applicable backup expires. We restrict access and do not restore deleted information to normal use. Separately agreed services may require accounting or contractual records to be kept for legal reasons.

Your email preferences

Tips and news are optional. You can change your preference in your account or contact us to stop them. Service messages and replies to your enquiries are separate from marketing. We don’t treat creating an account as permission for marketing calls or texts.

Your rights

Depending on the circumstances, you can request access, correction, deletion, a copy of your information, restriction or an objection to processing. You can withdraw consent without affecting earlier lawful processing. Download a copy of your information or delete your account in the dashboard to remove its saved business data, or contact us about your rights. We may need to verify your identity before acting.

If you are unhappy with how we handle your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office.
